Mr. Eric Singh – Occupational Health and Safety Consultant

Mr. Singh joined our team early this year as our Occupational Health and Safety Consultant. He provides professional consultancy support and advice to small, medium and large businesses across a wide variety of industry sectors in relation to meeting their statutory and regulatory OH&S requirements.

Mr. Singh has extensive experience and can assist in:

• The development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of OHS Management Systems (OHSMS) in compliance with the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
• Conducting workplace inspections and audits and preparing system improvement reports.
• Carrying out hazard identification, conducting risk assessments and developing control measures.
• Assisting businesses in the development of OHS policies, protocols and procedures.
• Providing statutory and regulatory compliance advice.
• Advising on improvement and prohibition notices.
• Developing emergency evacuation procedures.
• Injury and accident investigation.
• Providing advice on Worker’s Compensation including injury management and return to work programs.
• Providing staff training for OHS changes and programs including workplace safety inductions.

As a RABQSA Lead Auditor in OHS Management Systems, Mr. Singh has conducted internal audits using data verification to confirm businesses’ OHSMS are in compliance with the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and the supporting standard AS/NZS4804:2001 as well as being successfully implemented in accordance to their documented plans and procedures. Based on the audit result and legislative changes, Mr. Singh has made written recommendations to management for system improvement so as to lead to a reduction of workplace illness and injury, minimising the costs associated with workplace accidents.

As a consultant to local government, Mr. Singh has been involved in extensive liaison with emergency service agencies such as the State Emergency Service, Police, Ambulance and Fire Services in compiling community Emergency Risk Management Studies dealing with risks arising from emergency events including natural disasters such as bushfire, flood, storm surge and landslide, technological disasters such as hazardous materials, bridge collapse, infrastructure failure and biological hazards such as pathogens and human disease epidemic.
